VitRoom gives a new color and shade to Noyemberyan

Founded two years ago in the border town of Noyemberyan, VitRoom, which combines glass and wood to create and illustrate products, was unique in the region. And if at the beginning of its foundation many people were confused by the brand created by two women, artist Siranush Amiraghyan and economist Nune Azizyan, now their difficult path and activity have made many Noyemberyan residents “trust” VitRoom and become a loyal partner of the company.

Two years after the start of the activity, the co-founders reaffirm that they did not make a mistake by starting an innovative business in the border town of Noyemberyan. Thanks to VitRoom, the region has a colorful corner where all the creative ideas of the industry can be brought to life.

We talked to Siranush about the organization’s past, vision for the future and women’s business approaches.

Making sketches, 3D modeling, cutting parts, processing, painting, packaging, to deliver the product to the customer –we go all this way together with Nune. Given the growing interest in the product, we plan to launch a free training program for young people interested in the field in the coming months, at the end of which some of them will be hired to join the VitRoom team.

The most important precondition for getting a job is dedication to work. They should approach the matter with compassion like us. I think in any business, if a person does not use his resources heartily, the result cannot be excellent. We want the people of Noyemberyan not only to get acquainted with VitRoom’s innovative approaches, but also to get a job through it.

I think everything is easier for us, we are able to manage more flexibly, or I must say that combining business with family causes some difficulties. Especially in the beginning you have to spend a lot of time in business. It is like a child. You have to take care of it for at least three years, try to get it back on its feet, so that later it can develop more independently and normally.

In business, women can still be somewhat hindered by stereotypes that a woman can do nothing, or that a woman should not negotiate, that a woman will not be able to deal with such a question… These are stereotypes that still work to some extent. Now the opportunities for women are very wide, both in terms of education and raising money. In fact, there are more opportunities for women today than there are barriers.

As a result of three years of work, we have a small workshop and studio in Noyemberyan, equipped with machines. In the short term, we plan to expand Noyemberyan’s working team, product range and have our small point of sale in Yerevan. Our ultimate goal is to ensure such quality and results that our products are in great demand not only in Armenia but also abroad.
