Zaruhi Postanjyan: “I want people to remember that they have the opportunity to make a real choice”

WomenNet.am’s interlocutor is Zaruhi Postanjyan, the leader of Yerkir Tsirani Party’s list of snap elections. She is convinced that this time the citizens of Armenia will go to the polls with hope that the changes will be possible for the better.

I must say that this time the pre-election campaign was different, positive. The overall atmosphere was positive, and people finally believe that positive changes are possible and they themselves can become part of those changes. I want to record that there is hope, faith restoration, and good. This is a very important factor for me. If we recall the previous elections, it should be noted that at that time people simply excluded the possibility of changes, and this is a terrible fact. People today do not think so.

I do not think that the outcome of the elections or the results depends only on the positive attitude of the population. It all depends on what programs you present, what sequence of steps, what strategy. Besides, I am sure that Yerevan residents will also consider the candidates’ abilities, the past political path and their works. Being represented in the Yerevan Council of Elders for the past two years, we have raised many issues, have solved them, and have made them visible. I do not say about the past ten years when I was a deputy of the National Assembly. My experience of so many years allows me to say that I am familiar with all issues of concern to Yerevan residents and I imagine their solutions.

I am grateful to all the people who have ever supported or joined the “Yerkir Tsirani” party. I do not want to discuss anyone’s decisions, I wish them success, but I also want to mention that people who have joined the statement have never been members of the “Yerkir Tsirani” party. They have just cooperated with the party.
