Live longer:<\/strong>\u00a0our women live almost seven years longer than men,\u00a077.5\u00a0and\u00a070.7\u00a0years respectively.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Are being born less:\u00a0<\/strong>because of prenatal sex selection, every year on average around 1400 girls are not born.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Get married later over time:\u00a0<\/strong>while in\u00a0<\/strong>2001 the average marriage age for women was 22.8, in 2011 it reached 25. At the same time, the more women are educated the later they get married.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Want more children but have less:\u00a0<\/strong>while in1970s an Armenian woman had three children on average, now it is twice less. In other words, today two women have three children. However, women consider having 2-3 children to be the ideal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Infertility:\u00a0<\/strong>infertility rate is quite high among Armenian women \u2013 16.8 per cent, which is higher than the crisis rate set by\u00a0the WHO (15\u00a0per cent). This means that approximately every one in six women cannot have a child.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n House holders:\u00a0<\/strong>our\u00a0<\/strong>women spend five times more time on caring for households and children than\u00a0men.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Read<\/strong>ers<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/strong>two thirds of readers at libraries are women\u00a0and girls.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Poverty:\u00a0<\/strong>every one\u00a0out of three\u00a0women (34.5\u00a0per cent)\u00a0in our country is poor.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Violence:\u00a0<\/strong>In\u00a0<\/strong>Armenia, approximately 6 out of 10 women have been subject to phychological violence, one out of 10\u00a0\u2013 physical violence, and four out of five victims of physical violence has been subject to sexual violence.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n United Nations Population Fund<\/em><\/p>\n <\/em>Yerevan<\/em><\/p>\n
