{"id":3912,"date":"2012-05-27T12:43:01","date_gmt":"2012-05-27T12:43:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive.womennet.am?p=3912"},"modified":"2012-06-06T09:24:55","modified_gmt":"2012-06-06T09:24:55","slug":"anons10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.womennet.am\/en\/anons10\/","title":{"rendered":"Only 10% women MP&#8217;s to take place in the Parliament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.womennet.amwp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/parl-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the May 6th Parliamentary Election results only 14 women (10%) are enrolled in the fifth convocation of the National Assembly of Armenia, which means that it has been supplemented by two persons compared to the fourth convocation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please note that during the previous elections when 15 percent quota was mandated only 12 women (9,1%) were elected under Proportional and none under Majoritarian system. If we consider the fact that during these elections two women were elected under Majoritarian system, it is obvious, that the political parties recorded no progress, moreover, they disqualified and depreciated the mandated 20 percent quotes stipulated by the Electoral Code.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also worth mentioning, that in average 22.8% women were involved in the parties&#8217; pre-electoral lists.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of 69 parliamentarians from the<\/strong><strong> &#8220;Republican Party of Armenia&#8221; (RPA) <\/strong><strong>9 are women, which constitutes 13% (in the RPA pre-electoral lists women constituted 21.3%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Hermine Naghdalyan<\/strong>, Member of RA National Parliament since the previous convocation, Chairman of the RPA Women&#8217;s Council, Member of RPA Executive Body, PhD in Economic Sciences<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Shushan Petrosyan<\/strong>, Soloist of Armenian State Philharmonia, Honored Artist of Armenia, RPA member<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Karine Atshemyan<\/strong>, Member of RA National Parliament since the previous convocation, Member of RPA<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Rusanna Muradyan<\/strong>, Principal of Yerevan School # 43, Member of RPA<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Margarit Yesayan<\/strong>, columnist at Aravot daily newspaper, RPA member<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Naira Karapetyan<\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>PR manager of the Secretariat of the National Road Safety Council of the Republic of Armenia, Member of United Liberal National Party (MIAK)<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Arpine Hovhannisyan<\/strong>, lecturer at the chair of Civil Law, PHD in Law, RPA member<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Karine Poghosyan<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0#17 electoral constituency, Artashat # 1 school director, RPA member<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>9.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Marine Marabyan<\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>#40 electoral constituency, \u00abInternational Masis Tobacco\u00bb LTD Executive Director<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Out of 37 parliamentarians from <strong>&#8220;Prosperous<\/strong><strong> Armenia&#8221; party<strong> <\/strong><\/strong><strong>parliamentarians<\/strong> 2 are women, which is 5,4% (in the <strong>pre-electoral lists women constituted <\/strong>21.8%).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>10.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Naira Zohrabyan<\/strong>, Member of RA National Parliament since the previous convocation<\/p>\n<p><strong>11.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Elinar Vardnayan<\/strong>, Advocate of the Chamber of Advocates of the RA, Lawyer at &#8220;First Mortgage Company&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Out of 7 parliamentarians from the<strong> Armenian National Congress<\/strong> faction 1 is a women, which constitutes14% (in the <strong>pre-electoral lists women constituted <\/strong>20.3%):<\/p>\n<p><strong>12.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Lyudmila Sargsyan<\/strong>, Chairperson of the Social-Democrat Hnchakyan Party (SDHK)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of 6 parliamentarians from Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party<\/strong> 1 is a women, which constitutes16% (in the <strong>pre-electoral lists women constituted <\/strong>20,2%).<\/p>\n<p><strong>13.\u00a0Heghine Bisharyan<\/strong>, &#8220;Orinats Yerkir&#8221; deputy president, Member of RA National Parliament since the previous convocation, Leader of &#8220;Orinats Yerkir&#8221; Faction<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of 5 parliamentarians from<\/strong><strong> Zharangutyun (Heritage) party<\/strong>\u00a01 is a woman, which constitutes 20%\u00a0(in the <strong>pre-electoral lists women constituted <\/strong>24.6%).<\/p>\n<p><strong>14.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Zaruhi Postanjyan<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>Member of RA National Parliamentarian starting the previous convocation,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Out of 5 parliamentarians from<strong> Armenian Revolutionary Federation<\/strong> none is a woman, (in the <strong>pre-electoral lists women constituted <\/strong>32%).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After comparing the composition of the fourth and fifth convocation it is obvious that the <strong>RPA<\/strong> has obviously increased the number of women in its delegation \u2013 3.1 percent is amplified by 13 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Prosperous<\/strong><strong> Armenia&#8221; party<\/strong> decreased the number of women from 12 to 5 percent in comparison with the previous convocation. Meantime, for the current convocation the party supplemented the number of its parliamentarians by 12 people, yet the number of women has been decreased.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In regard to women representation <strong>Armenian Revolutionary Federation <\/strong>and <strong>Heritage Parties<\/strong> recorded a notable regress, since during the fourth convocation women represnetation by the parties was 18.7 and 42.8 percent accordingly.
