In Syunik community council elections are scheduled for five communities –\u00a0 Kajaran, Tegh, Meghri, Goris and Gorayk. Five women nominated in three communities, Goris, Tegh and Meghri.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s recall, that Goris, Meghri, Gorayk, Tegh communities are aggregated and include a total of 30 communities. There are no women among 15 candidates in Qajaran and \u00a09 candidates in Gorayq. It should be noted that in the region’s functioning councils women make up 9.2%, while only 6% among nominated ones for these elections.<\/p>\n

On September 18th<\/sup>, 2016 the next elections are scheduled in in the local governments of 317 communities of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Tavush and Syunik regions After withdrawals 2693 candidates will participate in the municipal elections, including 338 women (12.5%). 408 candidates will participate in the elections of community council leader, 10 are women (2.4%).<\/p>\n
