On September 18th<\/sup>, in Tavush region the community leader elections will be held in 31 communities, and municipal elections in 29 communities. Among them are 3 enlarged communities- Noyemberyan, Ayroum and Koghb – \u00a0uniting about 20 communities. In Region 2 women are nominated as community head candidates \u00a0– in villages \u00a0Kirants and Getahovit.<\/p>\n

In communities of Tavush region 9 out of 15 candidates for council members are women.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Nominated women are mainly principals and employees of kindergartens, schools, dispensaries, non-party candidates \u00a0and self-nominated.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It should be noted that only 31 of the 383 council members operating in Tavush region today are women, ie 8%.<\/p>\n

In 62 Tavush villages \u00a0there are no women community leaders.<\/p>\n
