On September 18, 13.5 per cent of 2 825 382 registered candidates in the upcoming local elections, council members in five regions of Armenia\u00a0 are female. These data were provided to WomenNet.am by the Central Election Commission on Monday.<\/p>\n

63Council member female-candidates \u00a0\u00a0are running in 35 communities of Aragatsotn region, 121 – \u00a0in the 59 communities of Ararat province, 142 – in 76 communities of Armavir region, 5\u00a0 – in \u00a03 communities Syuniq region,\u00a0 51\u00a0 – in \u00a019 communities of Tavush region.<\/p>\n

On September 18, 2016 the next local self-governmental elections in\u00a0 317 communities are scheduled in Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Tavush and Syunik regions.<\/p>\n
