37-year-old lawyer Virginia Raj, who represents the “Movement of five stars”, became the mayor of Rome, capital of Italy. Data were presented on Monday by the Italian Interior Ministry, which is performing functions of the Central Election Commission.<\/p>\n

According to the preliminary data released on Sunday the 2nd round of elections was held in Rome \u00a0which resulted Virginia Raj to collect the votes of 67.2%, while her rival, the ruling Democratic Party Jakettin Roberto, who personally backed by Italian Prime Minister Mateo Randi received a total of 32.8% of the vote. In fact, Roberto Jakettin already admitted defeat and congratulated Virginia Raj on her victory.<\/p>\n

On the same day in another city in Italy, according to the preliminary results of the elections held in Turin, a woman candidate of the “Five Star Movement” Kyara Apendino received 10% more votes than her opponent of the ruling party. So, in all probability, Turin will be headed by a woman too.<\/p>\n
