In an interview with the journalists the president of the Union of Artists of Armenia Karen Aghamyan admitted that the number of men is dominating among the leading artists.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But I assure you, it will take 5-10 years, and you will see a different picture. I teach at the Academy of Fine Arts and the majority of learners in all courses are girls. I cannot explain the reason for the increase in the number of girls. This exhibition shows that it does not matter; the authors of paintings are women or men. In this spirit, the momentum, the strength in painting, not all men can render it, &#8220;said union president.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>British \u00abThe Guardian\u00bb newspaper referred to the lack of female artists in the galleries, in television, underrepresentation of their works.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Why women are less represented in the galleries.
