On February 14, at 13:00- 15:00, in Northern Avenue, by the initiative of \u00abSociety without violence\u00bb NGO, International Dance Flashmob \u00abOne Billion Rising for justice\u00bb will be held. It is the greatest public event aimed at stopping violence against women and girlswhich is held in more than 200 countries, every year involving more and more participants in different countries. In Armenia for the first time this flashmob was conducted in 2014.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The event urges all women and girls to be more courageous and determined, not to be afraid to fight for their rights, thus performing a real revolution in their lives.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Its name \u2013 one billion rising \u2013 is not accidental. It comes to remind the harsh reality that according to the UN statistics, every third woman in the world is subjected to any kind of violence during her lifetime. That means that at least 1 billion women in the world suffer from violence. Participants of the movement try to draw everyone’s attention to this shocking statistics, calling to stand up for justice.<\/p>\n

Let’s note that coincidence of the flashmob with St. Valentine’s Day is not interpreted, but it has its message\u2026 it reminds loving couples that love is not violence…<\/p>\n
