News Agency Panorama.am reports\u00a0 that the \u00a0RA President, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan met on \u00a05 February \u00a0in Tsakhkadzor with the representatives of the female members of the RPA.\u00a0 At\u00a0 meeting, the female Party members asked the President to present his views and approaches on country\u2019s internal life, the upcoming parliamentary elections, a greater involvement of women in the works of the legislative body after changes to be made at the RA Electoral Code (increasing the quote of women\u2019s representation in party lists up to\u00a0 20%, mandated by the Electoral Code\u00a0 – ed. ) .<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cPresident didn\u2019t name anybody to be comprised in the proportionate list . Addressed only the question of the representation of women on the list,\u201d MP Hermine Naghdalyan told Panorama.am after the meeting in Tsaghkadzor.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe names don\u2019t matter, but the principles and political will that the party has adopted. And the developed Electoral Code gives an opportunity to increase women\u2019s representation not only in lawmaking but in executive fields, and women\u2019s potential will be used in passing pivotal decisions for the country,\u201d noted the MP.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Naira Nahapetyan, RPA member of council of elders\u2019 of Yerevan, has said President signifies the potential of women and has highlighted this issue in a meeting with the women.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThose stereotypes that woman should do but housing and cooking are broken and President\u2019s words are evidence that we\u2019re living in a new century,\u201d N. Nahapetyan said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
