{"id":10510,"date":"2012-07-10T08:57:21","date_gmt":"2012-07-10T08:57:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive.womennet.am?p=10510"},"modified":"2013-04-21T09:01:15","modified_gmt":"2013-04-21T09:01:15","slug":"%d5%bc%d5%a1%d5%a4%d5%ab%d5%b8-%d5%a5%d6%82-%d5%bf%d5%a5%d5%bd%d5%a1%d5%b6%d5%b5%d5%b8%d6%82%d5%a9%d5%a5%d6%80%d5%ab-%d5%ac%d6%80%d5%a1%d5%a3%d6%80%d5%b8%d5%b2%d5%a1%d5%af%d5%a1%d5%b6-%d5%b4%d6%80","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.womennet.am\/en\/%d5%bc%d5%a1%d5%a4%d5%ab%d5%b8-%d5%a5%d6%82-%d5%bf%d5%a5%d5%bd%d5%a1%d5%b6%d5%b5%d5%b8%d6%82%d5%a9%d5%a5%d6%80%d5%ab-%d5%ac%d6%80%d5%a1%d5%a3%d6%80%d5%b8%d5%b2%d5%a1%d5%af%d5%a1%d5%b6-%d5%b4%d6%80\/","title":{"rendered":"Contest for stories related to women&#8217;s issues in Armenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.womennet.amwp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Untitled-2-copy-300x147.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is launching a radio and video reporting contest for stories related to women&#8217;s issues in Armenia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the contest is to promote active media coverage of women&#8217;s issues in Armenia, in order to encourage democratic accountability and sensitive and informed reporting on key concerns facing women.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Radio, TV and online media journalists as well as freelance reporters are eligible to submit audio and video pieces for the contest.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The materials submitted must have been broadcast between January 1 and August 31, 2012, and cover issues relating to health, unemployment, education, engagement of women in governance, and other social and economic topics of concern to women living in remote areas of Armenia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Radio and video pieces should be no more than four minutes in length.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submissions will be judged according to the criteria below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Balance and fairness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thoroughness of reporting: new information, factual detail, illustrative examples, diversity of sources.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reporting techniques: engaging the audience, emotional impact, structure, creativity and style.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline for submission of materials is 5 pm on August 31, 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The panel of judges will award certificates and cash prizes, as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First prize (radio): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 85,000 AMD<\/p>\n<p>Second place (radio): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 55,000 AMD<\/p>\n<p>Third place (radio): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 45,000 AMD<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First prize (video): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 85,000 AMD<\/p>\n<p>Second place (video): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 55,000 AMD<\/p>\n<p>Third place (video): \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 45,000 AMD<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>IWPR Armenia\u2019s partners will award additional prizes for the best radio\/video reports covering specific thematic subjects:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.women.net\">www.women.net<\/a>\u00a0will award a special prize for the best radio or video report covering women\u2019s engagement in politics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Women\u2019s Resource Centre will award a special prize for the best radio\/video report covering public involvement or civil initiatives by young women and girls in community action, education or other areas of civic activism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The United Nations Population Fund\u2019s Armenia Country Office will award a special prize for\u00a0 the best report on issues related to young women&#8217;s access to reproductive health services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>IWPR reserves the right to republish winners\u2019 reports on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iwpr.net\">www.iwpr.net<\/a>\u00a0and other resources. Republished materials may be edited to meet IWPR\u2019s editorial standards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT IWPR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IWPR strengthens local media at the frontlines of conflict and change, working in two dozen countries and territories around the world.
