Vanadzor -2016. almost one third of the candidates are women / Infographic 

Vanadzor City Council elections will be held on 2d of  October and 8 parties will particiate. In their candidate lists a total of 326 candidates are presented, 93 of them or 29% are women. It should be noted that required by law, the parties should ensure gender 25/75 proportion in their electoral lists.

Four parties  represented  female candidates in the top-three of their lists, the second half – beginning from the 4th number. Only one of the lists is headed by a women Aycemnik Ohanyan from PAP.

Let’s note that the Community council elections in Gyumri and Vanadzor will be held on October 2d under the proportional system for the first time .
