Local Elections in 2017: The nominations have been launched
Regular elections of local self-government bodies will be held on November 5 in 66 communities in Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Tavush regions.
More than thirty of them are elections in larger communities, resulting in about 30 communities from 361 communities.

Extraordinary elections are scheduled for November 5 in Artashat, Ararat marz, Shirakamut of Lori region and Goris communities of Syunik region.
It should be reminded that Mayor of Artashat Argam Abrahamyan refused from the mayor’s post after being elected as a Member of Parliament from the Tsarukyan bloc and Goris mayor Vachagan Adunts resigned in early September. Because of political intrigues, these two cities may be in the spotlight.
According to the data published by the Central Electoral Commission, only 15 of the mentioned communities will be held only in the community head, in 17 communities – only council members, and in 37 communities – community member elections and community head elections will be held simultaneously. In total, they will elect a community head in 52 communities.
