We try to help children affected by the war. Talin Saghdasaryan

In the building intended for the outgoing meetings of the athletes, which had become a temporary shelter for the families of Artsakh during the war, before the New Year, 80 pre-school children lived. It was in this shelter that education expert Talin Saghdasaryan volunteered for about three months during the war.

Initially, they performed chemical and physical experiments with children. The children’s interest and desire to do more led her to start teaching mathematics at the same time.

Talin says that he has always known that there are many phenomena in the world that going through them will be heroic. But she has never had to become a hero before.

Despite the fact that Talin is not currently engaged in volunteer work, today it has deepened her work in the field of education, cooperating with UNICEF Armenia. As part of the program, they are trying to help more than 30,000 children affected by the war not to be left alone with fears and various feelings. They will create special illustrations to overcome fears.

It should be noted that after the Second Artsakh War, the right of more than 30,000 Artsakhis to education was violated. According to official data, about 90,000 Artsakhis were forced to flee their homes during the hostilities. About 51,000 people have returned so far.

In total, 62% of students and 77% of teachers returned to Artsakh. 31,000 Artsakhis cannot return to their homes as they are under Azerbaijani control. Before the war, about 8,000 families lived in 121 settlements handed over to Azerbaijan.
