Women’s representation in the National Assembly: twice lower than in the world’s parliaments on average

 

Percentage of women represented in the parliament is considered as one of the important indicators describing women’s status and their influence on formation of political institutions and processes of making political decisions.

The world’s highest rate is in countries of Northern Europe – 41,1%, women’s representation in OSCE countries’ parlaments is 25,7%. The lowest percentage of women’s participation is in the parliaments of Arabian countries (19,1%) and Pacific (13,4%).
