The US Congresswoman called for the recognition of Artsakh’s independence
US Congresswoman Grace Napolitano introduced a resolution on Artsakh’s independence in the House of Representatives. She called for the official recognition of the independence of the Artsakh Republic.
The document submitted by the congresswoman refers to the historical origins of Artsakh, mentions that Artsakh has been a part of Armenia for thousands of years, and in recent decades has developed as an independent state.
“The history of Artsakh is very similar to the history of America, the victory of a free people over foreign rule,” the congresswoman wrote on her Twitter, presenting her appeal.
Noting that today, when “rain of rockets” is fired at the citizens of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, Turkey and their Islamic State allies, freedom is the only answer to Artsakh’s survival.
“Separation for salvation, based on history, the existence of laws. There can be no turning back, Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan. “The way forward is the path to freedom, so today I call on the United States to formally recognize the independence of the Artsakh Republic,” the congresswoman concluded.
