Garik Hayrapetyan. “One more step forward to ensuring equality in the family and at work.”
Our publications on the 2016-2018 national program for the improvement of the demographic situation received quite wide response among readers., as it contains a remarkable solutions Still being developed, this program includes innovative approaches proposed by the United Nations Population Fund, around which WomenNet- talks with the UN Population Fund Executive Representative Garik Hayrapetyan who expressed his opinion on very important issues:
– Demographic platform contains innovative approaches.
– Actually, solving the demographic problem and increasing fertility rate is especially long and expensive process. But anyhow, less money is needed to preserve the mother’s health than to regain lost health.
– The state is losing the potential of women, which it creates for them itself. Yes, this concern proved to be appropriate and conducted research and analysis shows that when we do not use more than 50% of the potential of our society, and especially do not target the potential to produce economic value, it is quite a serious effect on the country’s development.
– “We cannot ignore the fact that the world is changing.” Yes, of course we have our thinking, our attitudes toward traditional family values in life, but on the other hand, we also cannot ignore the fact that the world is changing, going forward, and Armenia is also a part of the world, its active part. These changes lead to changes within the family, as if the man was the only breadwinner in the family and was able to keep his job in the family, today it is not so.
