The number of women candidates in the lists of political forces makes 30% / Infographic/

National lists of political forces running in the elections – 5 political parties and 4 coalitions  –  in total, includes 29.5% female candidates. The number of women candidates makes 30.8% in the regional lists. It turns out that delaying 30/70 proportion made no sense, because the parties are ready to involve more women in their lists than demands the transitional provision of the Electoral Code. Let’s recall that the maintenance of 25/75 proportion is fixed by the law.

Another issue is that the political forces are not ready yet to yield a greater number of places, to women in the top five and top ten maintaining the strict letter of the law in this matter. Instead, the analysis of the lists shows, that they complement with women the last ten lists of candidates, the representation of women in some cases up to 100%.

  • None of the lists of political forces participating in elections is headed by a woman
  • There are also no women in the second position
  • Three political forces included women in the 3d places and the rest – beginning from the 4th place
  • In the fisrt top ten almost each of them represented two women and only one of them included three women in the first top ten.
