“My husband threw me on the ground and dropped like a ball.” A woman from Vanadzor voices about violence
28-year-old Suyuzi Ayvazyan’s signal alarming violence, does not give her parents a calm moment from the beginning of the year. On the evening of January 4th, Syuzi called her parents in Vanadzor and informed them that her father-in-law had thrown her and her two children out of the house. The elder is 6 years old and the youngest is 10 months old. So she had to reached Vanadzor from Kharkov, Ukraine. Informing the husband about the occurred Syuzi just got and indifferent response to do whatever she wants.
The young woman said that during the seven years of marriage, cases of violence have been of a regular nature. In addition, she was subjected to violence not only by her husband but also by the father-in-law. In her words, violence in the family has always been in the children’s presence, so they have always been in a stressful situation.
Two days ago, by the intervention of the state body dealing with the protection of children’s rights, a meeting of Syuzi and children with her husband was organized. While she was about to make her final decision about divorce, her husband took away her little son from her arms and threw her into the ground and rushed into the car. Taking a breast-feeding baby away from her mother cost expensive. A few hours later, a depressed and dehydrated baby was taken to a reanimation department at one of the local medical centers. Syuzi hurried to her as soon as she learned of her son’s transfer to the hospital. However, her husband did not allow her to see her son. Syuzi appealed to local law enforcement officials, who, however, have not taken any effective action yet after accepting the complaint.
A young woman in a foreign country has no financial means to have a lawyer and protect her interests. She will also need human assistance. The girl’s parents are eager to go to support her, but both are not working today and have no financial means to reach Ukraine from Armenia.
Syuzi is now forced to seek help from fellow citizens and ask for support. Those wishing to support her can contact Anahit Abgaryan, her mother 043 230235, or make money transfers by Anahit Abgaryan’s bank account at Unibank at 24100374566872.
