How many votes did the political forces, whose lists were headed by women, get?

As it is known, out of the lists of 44 political forces participating in the local elections held in 36 communities of the republic on December 5, only three were headed by women, two of whom are incumbent mayors: Diana Gasparyan (“Civil Contract”) in Echmiadzin and Jemma Harutyunyan (“Amasia-Arpi” in Amasia). The third party was Suzanna Avetisyan, who was nominated by the “Country to Live” party in Jermuk. Preliminary election results show that only two of the three women can run for office again. It will be possible to talk about it more precisely after the formation of the councils.

 

According to the preliminary results of the elections, the “Civil Contract” in Etchmiadzin, the list of which is headed by the incumbent mayor Diana Gasparyan, received the maximum number of votes (54.48%). It means that Diana Gasparyan will keep her position.

 

The votes were distributed as follows:

Alliance of “Echmiadzin” parties – 3872 votes or 36.52%

True Democratic Party – 273 votes or 2.57%

“Bright Armenia” party – 150 votes or 1.41%

“Patriot” party – 528 votes or 4.98%

“Civil Contract” party – 5776 votes or 54.48%

 

In Amasia, the Amasia-Arpi bloc of parties, led by incumbent Mayor Jemma Harutyunyan, received 38.27% of the vote. Here the votes were distributed as follows:

 

Alliance of “Amasia-Arpi” parties – 1199 votes or 38.27%

Republican Party of Armenia – 717 votes or 22.89%

“Civil Contract” party – 1217 votes or 38.84%

 

In Jermuk, the Land of Living party, led by Suzanna Avetisyan, received only 4.07% of the vote.

 Here the votes were distributed as follows:

 

“Country to Live” Party 118 votes or 4.07%

“Our Community” bloc of parties 236 votes or 8.14%

“Civil Contract” party 2544 votes or 87.75%
