Biden appoints women to senior positions
US President-elect Joe Biden continues to appoint new administrators. He has appointed Jen Psaki – State Department spokeswoman in the Obama administration – as White House spokeswoman. His campaign spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield will also become director of public relations. This was reported by “Voice of America”.
Senior advisor to Biden-Harris campaign Simone Sanders will be the spokeswoman of the Vice President-elect of Kamala Harris. Biden’s former spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander will be the first lady’s director of public relations.
Biden campaign senior advisers Karin Jean-Pierre and Ashley Etienne will be entrusted with the posts of White House Vice-Speakers. Pili Tobar, an aide to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, will serve as deputy director of public relations.
A number of members of President Donald Trump’s communications department are also women, such as spokeswoman Kaylee McKennan and White House communications director Alice Farah.
According to press reports, Biden also elected officials from his team on economic issues. Nira Tanden, of the American Center for Advanced Analysis, will soon take over as director of budget and management, and Cecilia Rose, a former professor of economics at Princeton University, will chair the Economic Advisory Board.
