Arusyak Ayvazyan. “In politics women and men equally have something to say” 

Arusyak Ayvazyan –  former candidate for Garni village mayor, Director of “Garni” LLC is going to participate in the parliamentary elections. Let’s recall that Mrs. Arusyak gained popularity not only in her home village in Garni, but also throughout the country, due to the protests against changing the bed of the river Azat, resulting in victory of Garni community  and saving Azat River. In the interview with WomenNet Ms. Ayvazian said she has a lot to say and to do and that  defeat in elections  few months ago did not discourage her.

“We have  constantly been told for many centuries that women should be obedient to man, and man must be the wife’s owner. And this ideology has entered into people. I understand that it is a more intuitive approach than conscious and women’s access to the policy breaks that understanding, but it is still not enough, the residue is still felt. And I would try to change it, in politics women and men equally have something to say, especially when they realize what”.
