Grandmothers of Artsakh. “Let  no parent loses her son…”

Grandmothers of Artsakh – 84-year-old Seda and  85-year-old Sharmagh, whose picture with a gun appeared in the pages of international media in the first days of the war, symbolizing the determination of the people of Artsakh to defend their home.

Grandmother Seda has 5 children, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and even one great-grandchild has one child. This is the 4^th war in her life. And she is determined to protect her home, the land of her ancestors.

Grandmother Sharmagh, who has seen three wars, does not know how many of her 7 children and many grandchildren are taking part in the war, as all the soldiers are “her children”. She is not going to leave her house and stay in the shelter, as she is no longer afraid of explosions.

The desire is one – to have peace in the world. “I wish no parent  loses her son. I have lost, so I know well…” she said.
