Anna Zhamakochyan to be appointed Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
By RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s decision, Anna Zhamakochyan has been appointed Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
With this appointment, two of the four deputy ministers of the Minister Zara Batoyan, are women: Tatik Stepanyan and Anna Zhamakochyan. In total, 11 of the 40 deputy ministers in 12 ministries are women.
Anna Zhamakochyan was born in 1981.
In 1998-2004 she studied at the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology of Yerevan State University.
From 2012 to 2014, studied at the Institute of Contemporary Art and is an art critic.
In 2012-2016, she was a PhD candidate at the Chair of Applied Sociology at Yerevan State University.
Since 2019 she has been studying at the Department of Translation Certification of the American University of Armenia.
Since 2008 she has been the co-founder, co-chair and researcher of “Socioscope” NGO;
In 2018-2020 she was the chairman of “Socioscope” NGO.
In 2009-2016 she was a researcher and head of the Information Research Center of the Noravank Scientific-Educational Foundation.
Since 2014 she has been teaching at YSU Faculty of Sociology.
Fluent in English and Russian.
