Anahit Avanesyan has been appointed RA Minister of Health
It became known today that the RA President’s Office received the proposals of the RA Prime Minister to dismiss Arsen Torosyan and to appoint Anahit Avanesyan to the post of the RA Minister of Health. It should be reminded that Anahit Avanesyan held the post of First Deputy Minister of Health.
Later, the RA President signed the decrees on personnel changes, according to which Anahit Avanesyan was appointed Minister of Health, and Arsen Torosyan was relieved of the post of Minister. There is information that Torosyan will soon be appointed Chief of Staff of the RA Prime Minister, replacing Eduard Aghajanyan.
Anahit Avanesyan from May, 2018 held the position of Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, and from May, 2020 – the position of the first deputy. She is a civil law specialist.
Anahit Avanesyan was born on March 21, 1981. From 1997 to 2003 she studied at Yerevan State University and received a Master’s degree in Civil Law. In 2002-2004 she continued her education at the American University of Armenia, receiving a Master’s degree in Law.
In 2002-2004 she studied at the Leadership Development Center. In 2003, participated in the Transcaucasian Young Women Leadership Program in the South Caucasus, in 2003 at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, she got acquainted with the structure and functions of the Council of Europe.
Started working at the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia (2000-2001). In 2001-2002, provided legal advice to the State Reserve Agency.
In 2005-2015 she was the legal advisor of “Democracy Today” NGO.
In 2014-2015, held the position of Administrative Director of “Arpharmacia” CJSC. Then, until 2016, she was appointed General Director of the organization.
From 2017 to 2018 she was the director of “Abovyan 39” LLC, during the same period – also a member of the board of “Arpharmacia” CJSC.
Participated in a number of certified courses, in particular, in 2017 at the American University of Armenia on “Project Management”, in 2014 at “Pharmatech” CJSC on “Implementation-Supervision of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards”. In 2010 he participated in a course on “European Diplomacy” at the European Diplomatic School in Warsaw.
