Lilit Gharibyan. “I think women inspire and motivate each other”

Lilit Gharibyan, a pedagogue by profession, who lived in Yerevan with her husband, one day decides and replaces the noisy daily life of Yerevan with the peaceful but active agricultural life of nearby Yeghvard. The reason was the innovative idea. They decided to engage in ostrich breeding, a unique agricultural branch of its kind that is not yet popular in Armenia.

“We wanted to live in a quiet place outside of Yerevan, but close to the city and just doing family business. Why ostrich breeding, because we like to do something that is different? We do not like to repeat someone else” Lilit told WomenNet.am.

In 2018, the family buys the first 13 ostriches. During the ongoing awareness campaign on the beneficial properties of ostrich meat, demand gradually began to grow, which in turn stimulated the expansion of the activity.

The first subjects of the experiments become family members and relatives. Examining the beneficial properties of ostrich oil in practice on the skin of people with various problems, Lilit concludes that the information about the benefits presented on the Internet is true.

In the summer of 2018, immediately after passing the care products and receiving the relevant certificate, Lilit starts actively selling the care products presented under the “Ecoferma” brand. The first platform for sales was social networks, then regional pharmacies.

Ostrich oil-based care products are ordered by mothers of infants, including women, men, and the elderly.

Lilit is convinced that women can succeed, and women’s success can motivate and encourage other women.
