Confectionery is also an art and an innovation
The team of Armenian women confectioners was invited to participate in the All-Russian Culinary Olympiad “Legend” held in Perm, Russia on September 10-12, and was praised not only by a gold medal, but also by the competition committee.
– It was said that the Armenian team enriched and beautified their event with its high art works, and they often repeated that they had never seen such works, – the team leader Iskuhi Hambardzumyan told WomenNet.am.
The members of the commission were surprised and admired the compositions made of sugar flowers presented by Armenian confectioners and the cakes created with animated characters, which had an absolutely natural look.
Iskuhi Hamabardzumyan has been living in Minsk with her family for three decades and is an economist-manager by profession, but she became known to the world for her compositions of sugar flowers.
Chief confectioner Iskuhi Hambardzumyan is a European and world champion, a member of the commissions of the Russian-Russian confectionery associations, has participated in many international Olympiads, won gold medals and has relevant certificates.
According to Iskuhi, confectionery is an art like painting, which requires talent, professionalism, a sense of size, inspiration, and innovative ideas that are introduced in working with sugar dough.
WomenNet.am managed to talk to one of the members of Iskuhi Hambardzumyan’s team, confectioner Lusine Arushanyan.
For Lusine Arushanyan, confectionery has been a favorite hobby for two decades. In the confectionery factory run by her husband, she shaped cakes with cream flowers for different occasions, as well as for cakes. The praise for her design talent inspired Lusine and she decided to surpass herself by implementing new and beautiful ideas.
She says that after getting acquainted with Iskuhi Hambardzumyan and seeing her works, she became convinced that she still has a lot to learn.
Wonderful and natural flower arrangements can be stored in normal, dry conditions for two or three years, they can be tasted, but not everyone will want to “destroy” these beautiful flowers.
