“Nakhshun Hadrut” covers will tell about Hadrut
The handicrafts of 15 women from Hadrut – blankets, shawls – will soon appear in the Armenian market under the brand “Nakhshun Hadrut”. The goal is to preserve and publicize works of art representing the region, using the potential of displaced women from Hadrut. This is a way to earn income. With this unique program, women will convey the warmth of Hadrut to the users of the brand.
The visit of Mary Davtyan, Executive Director of “Hadrut De-Occupation” NGO, became an occasion to create the “Nakhshun Hadrut” brand in the apartment of host Anita Hakhverdyan.
“We decided that the design of the blankets should be made, the scheme should be drawn, the displaced women from Hadrut will be able to solve several problems in this way. The issue of employment will be partially solved, it is not less important, in this way Hadrut will be talked about, it will be said that Dizak province was Armenian, ”says Anita Hakhverdyan.
The “Nakhshun Hadrut” program was launched within the framework of the “Aurora to Artsakh” program of the “Aurora” humanitarian initiative. It was a possible condition that the raw material be Armenian, natural and exclusively woolen. They went to Amasia community of Shirak region to search for women from Hadrut.
“Each master will work on one cover to preserve the manuscript. The pattern typical of Dizak will be in the center. It will be completely white, and the patterns will be gray-brown. ” “The name ‘Nakhshun Hadrut’ was born, because every corner of Hadrut resembles a pattern,” says Anita Hakhverdyan.
There was an idea to create a “de-occupation of Hadrut” non-governmental organization during the war, when even official sources did not deny that the Azerbaijani side controlled the Armenian Hadrut. The co-founder and executive director of the NGO, Mary Davtyan, says that they have chosen the path of struggle, not despair.
Every step will be taken to make Hadrut recognizable. No less important than the political component is the presentation and popularization of the taste and smell of Hadrut, the cuisine.
Mary Davtyan thinks that in this way the people of Hadrut can be kept together so that they can return to their homeland together.
13,500 residents of Hadrut lost their home after the war and they dream of returning to Hadrut.
