“Regardless of my share of guilt, I want to apologize.” Tatevik Hayrapetyan
“It is very difficult for me to approach this tribune after the war and turn to you,” said Tatevik Hayrapetyan, an MP from the “My Step” faction, during the announcements in the National Assembly.
“I have been trying to regain myself for months. I have tried to understand my shortcomings, to find the ways through which I can still be useful to the citizens, to my homeland. Artsakh is an inseparable part of my identity. And now I feel the most pain thinking about my Artsakh, my friends, my compatriots. Recalling the precious and intimate places where we were truly happy and free, which are now under Azerbaijani occupation.
No matter how much I owe my guilt for the situation today, I want to apologize to all the people who have seen unspeakable pain and suffering…
I apologize to young women my age who are forced to raise their children alone. I apologize to the families of all our victims for the tears they shed, the sleepless nights, the irreparable losses. I apologize to our compatriots and the families of those who are still in Azerbaijan for this terrible ordeal. I apologize to all the boys who became disabled in this war. “It is due to your heroism that we or I are standing here today,” the MP said.
The deputy mentioned that she was ready to do everything in her place to alleviate their pain and sorrow, to solve their problems.
