“During the war, we had zero roles as representatives of the political power.” Taguhi Tovmasyan
“I do not want to be responsible for something I do not know, I do not have an explanation and justification for. We were unaware of the circumstances of the war. A high-ranking official called me and asked, “Are you in the faction aware of what Russia is offering us? You should be interested.” “We did not make it, the document was signed that night, we handed over Karvachar to the enemy without a single shot,” said Taguhi Tovmasyan – an independent MP who left the “My Step” faction in November of last year, immediately after the end of hostilities in Artsakh – during ArmNews TV’s “#Orakhndir” program yesterday.
“Artsakh was the guarantor of Armenia’s security, not the other way around. To not assess it means to have at least a wrong idea about the homeland. We are too forgiving towards Azerbaijan, yes, we should have a neighbor if it is like a neighbor. The zero reaction from Armenia scares me. “The citizen of Armenia is alone against the Azerbaijani armed forces. If the statement was tripartite, where is the third party? Moreover, sometimes there is no second party,” she said.
According to her, defeat at heart is the worst thing, we must speak as a parliament of a sovereign country, that is why several independent deputies have decided to draft a statement condemning Azerbaijan’s inhumane behavior in returning prisoners to captivity.
According to the independent deputy, as a result of the flexible conduct of the negotiations, it would be possible to get out of the war with minimal losses, at least to set a schedule for the exchange of prisoners.
It should be reminded that journalist Taguhi Tovmasyan, who was elected a deputy by the “My Step” bloc’s No. 8 (Gegharkunik region) constituency list, announced her decision to leave the “My Step” faction on the night of November 16.
