“Equal Marathon” ahead of local self-government elections

 

The “Equal” campaign is launching a series of visits to communities where community leader or council member elections are expected ahead of the September 29th  local government elections.

 

The tour will start on August 13th  and end on August 17th.

 

The purpose of the initiative is:

 

Ahead of the local self-government elections, visit all communities in the Republic of Armenia where elections will take place and, where appropriate, talk to community members about the need to actively participate in local government elections, stress the importance of equality # women and # men, and community issues, encourage women to participate in # LOCAL processes and nominate themselves.

August 14th

11: 00-13: 00 Aragatsotn Region, Sgharshik

15: 30-17: 30 Aragatsotn region, Ghazaravan

 

August 15th

11: 00-13: 00 Armavir Region, Tandzut

15: 30-17: 30 Armavir Region, Nor Caesarea

11: 00-13: 00 Tavush Mregion, Khashtarak

15: 30-17: 30 Tavush Refion, Sarigyugh

 

August 16th

11: 00-13: 00 Ararat region, Mrganush community

15: 30-17: 30 Ararat region, Artashat

 

August 17th

11: 00-13: 00 Lori Region, Yeghegnut Community

The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the Women in Politics program. The project is being implemented by the UNDP Armenia and OxYGen Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia with the financial support of the Good Governance Fund of Great Britain.
