“Equal Marathon” ahead of local self-government elections
The “Equal” campaign is launching a series of visits to communities where community leader or council member elections are expected ahead of the September 29th local government elections.
The tour will start on August 13th and end on August 17th.
The purpose of the initiative is:
Ahead of the local self-government elections, visit all communities in the Republic of Armenia where elections will take place and, where appropriate, talk to community members about the need to actively participate in local government elections, stress the importance of equality # women and # men, and community issues, encourage women to participate in # LOCAL processes and nominate themselves.

The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the Women in Politics program. The project is being implemented by the UNDP Armenia and OxYGen Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia with the financial support of the Good Governance Fund of Great Britain.
