Hasmik Yeghiazaryan “I’m a struggling, thought-provoking person open to novelties”
Hasmik Yeghiazaryan, member of Gyumri Council of Elders, MP candidate is in the 9th place in the national list of Rule of Law party and has been nominated by the territorial election commission in # 11 electoral district of Shirak.
She is the Director of the Gyumri branch of the European University and is active in social activities. In different years, she headed the Shirak Region Education Department, head of the Gyumri City Education Department, director of the “Palaton” Hungarian School, as well as director of the Gyumri No. 26 high school. 68-year-old Hasmik Yeghiazaryan is a mother of 2 children and has two grandchildren, for the first time in the top ten.
– With what new ideas do you participate in the elections?
– I have been in politics for a long time, starting from the age of 18-20, when I was an active member of the Communist League, then a deputy of the district council of our city, a member of the city council, and then occupied different positions, but no matter how busy I was, I have started. I was also nominated in the previous parliamentary elections, but I was not in the top ten. And in this election, it is especially important for me to address the issues of education. As a person in this area, I can imagine what has happened, what should be improved, and what should be done today to improve the school education. I think the basis of the state is education and education should be of great importance.
Next, as a mother, as a citizen, I am concerned about emigration. My children are not in Armenia, my son is in Russia, my daughter is in the United States. It’s a pity when you see the sad eyes of young women, and you call a parent in school and says, “Let his father come,” and this father is not in the city, only to see the excitement of these children. I consider it to be one of the priority tasks that needs to be started to develop an immigration process. We need to develop the economy, create new jobs. And any candidate for the deputy who is going to the National Assembly should have this point in his program.
What about choosing me? I do not prefer myself to be above anybody, but I’m not so modest I have to say I’m lower, than the others. I am a struggling, thinking person, open to novelties. I’m an innovative person. All the institutions I have led have been distinguished by this. I have always been demanding towards the others and more demanding towards me.
