Hermine Mkrtchyan: “Strong, stubborn, struggling, decisive women can bring about changes in politics”

WomenNet.am hold an interview with  Hermine Mkrtchyan, nominated by the “Sasna Tsrer” party for extraordinary parliamentary elections. She is in the 4th place of the party list and is the first female candidate on the list. Policy comes from the journalism, finding that it is time to become a direct participant in solving the problems that have been voiced over the years as a journalist.

Hermine Mkrtchyan was born on June 8th, 1988 in Gyumri. Graduated from Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute with specialization in social pedagogy. Since 2007, she has worked at GALA TV up to June 25, 2018. In 2016, she was nominated by Gala as a candidate for the council of elders. From September 2018, she is responsible for mass media issues of the “Sasna Tsrer” Pan-Armenian Party.

– Why did you decide to run for the National Assembly extraordinary elections?

– I have been nominated as a deputy candidate to bring my immediate participation to the solution of problems in the country. I have been talking and voicing these issues for years as a journalist, now I think it’s time to become a direct participant in their solution.

– Why did you decide to take part in the elections by the Sasna Tsrer Pan-Armenian Party list?

– It is a party as formal, in reality it is a pan-national, national movement, which unites around ideological, principled, patriotic people – all those who can contribute to a real state. I think this is the answer to your question why I have been included in the pre-electoral list of “Sasna Tsrer” Pan-Armenian Party.

I will defend the interests of the RA citizen and, in case of being in parliament, I will raise any question of the citizen, suggesting ways of solution. The problems are many, we deal with them at every step, and I can talk about it for a long time, I think there are occasions to address them.
