Svetlana Jaghatspanian: “Success sometimes comes from somewhere that you do not even expect”
For several years, Svetlana Jaghatspanyan, from Vanadzor, has developed a new type of burning engine model with Dad. It will spend 2.5 times less fuel, resulting in not only fuel savings, but also the likelihood of reducing environmental pollution.
Svetlana, a developer by profession, is delighted with the unprecedented pace of the development of the IT sector and is convinced that in Armenia, the attention should be paid to the engineering sector as well. According to Svetlana, the idea of creating a new engine was born long ago. Before handing over the idea of a father and a daughter to the paper, they examined the world’s experience and found out that these or other ideas have been suggested in different corners of the world, but there was no proposal of a comprehensive concept. “90% of the vehicles are currently using an internal combustion engine, with 10% of the rotating Vancel engine. Vancel is a powerful engine and has many advantages over the internal combustion engine, but has a number of drawbacks that have not been corrected so far. For example, the problem of overheating, “explains Svetlana.
The engine produced by the Jagpatspanyans also belongs to the class of rotor engines. The authors are convinced that all the calculations show that it will not have the flaws which exist in case of the rotating Vancel engine and will use 2.5 times less fuel, leading to less environmental pollution.
Although the father and daughter already have all the calculations and justifications proving the effectiveness and efficiency of their engine, the program has not yet been implemented. According to the authors the reason for this is the need for long and big investments.
“It’s costs about $ 100,000 to make the first two prototypes of the engine tested. It can take a year, during which there will be no income. Our predictions will continue for the next two years to reach negotiations and reach agreements. Only then it will be possible to think about earning a profit. Our project requires a long-term investment, but Armenia is for a fast-bore business, “says Svetlana.
The Jaghatspanyans have also developed a compressor model based on the engine model. “It is more affordable. It costs about $ 10,000 to make it. “When I take part in various competitions and projects, I first propagate the compressor idea, since the compressor is used in various fields, from household appliances to gas stations, “notes Svetlana.
The engine license was patented by the Armenian Intellectual Property Agency. Interest in the invention has been demonstrated by different state agencies. During the visit to Vanadzor Technological Center the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan got acquainted with the project and promised to support. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan is also familiar with the invention.
At the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, they accepted Jaghatspanyans, discussed the draft and decided to continue negotiations after presenting the business plan of the project. Highly appreciating the president’s attention, Svetlana says: “After discussing the issue in the Ministry, writing all business management and business plans is just over us. It’s a very serious, diligent, big business plan … I expected that we will provide all the documents to the ministry where they will form a team that will engage in the management of the project. ”
Despite all the obstacles facing the project, Svetlana is convinced that sooner or later they will succeed. “Success sometimes comes from a place that you do not even expect. The important thing is never give up hope.
By the way, in 2016, the Jagatspanyan won the innovative competition for climate change in Armenia, took the second prize place and together with two more teams won the right to represent Armenia at the international competition in Estonia.
