Nanny at the expense of the state. Mother’s reaction
As it is known, the state intends to support mothers of children under two years who will decide to return to work. Officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs are introducing the proposed amendments to the “RA Law on Employment”, and the topic is hotly debated among mothers.
First, the essence of the project. The state, offers women, being at maternity leave for taking care of children under two year old, a co-paying nanny to care for the child so that she can get back to work if she wishes. The ministry plans to provide up to 55,000 AMD per month for this purpose. 11 times a year because the employee has the right of one month leave.
The government has studied the experience of developed countries and came to the conclusion that birth rates are currently higher in those countries where the percentage of working mothers is higher, women’s educational levels are higher, and the unemployment rate is lower. For example, in Iceland, France, Sweden, Finland and Denmark where the birth rate varies between 1.9-2.2 births per woman, 75-85% of 25-54-aged all mothers are busy. In such countries, mothers with children up to three years are more likely to return to work than in low-income countries.
As for the mothers, their reaction to the proposed changes varies. on the one hand they are very excited, on the other hand – skeptical.
