The statement notes that the activities of the “Yerkir Tsirani” party from May 14, 2017 have become a target of repression
“The activities of the Yerkir Tsirani party’s faction in the Yerevan Council of Elders since June 16, 2017 have also become subject of repressions and persecutions by the Republican Party of Armenia (Taron Margaryan, Sergey Makaryan, Kamo Areyan, Levon Igityan). These individuals have committed crimes that are criminally persecuted by crimes against human and civil rights, violating the rights of citizens and hindering the party’s activities and committing a crime against society and morality – hooliganism.
Yerevan Council of Aldermen and Yerevan City Hall staff did not want to hold a public sitting of the Yerevan Council of Elders since they needed to cover the bargaining agreement. During the session, the issues and speeches raised by the members of the “Yerkir Apricot” faction were aimed at revealing the essence of the fraudulent deal, which was adopted by Taron Margaryan and the RPA on the basis of discriminatory behavior, both on the grounds of gender and that of denial and exclusion of the censorship. Periodically, speeches have been interrupted by gross violations of the law, speeches and announcements have been made. The session moderator Taron Margaryan pointed out that the sex of Sonna Aghekyan and Marina Khachatryan, members of Yerkir Apricot faction, “this girl’s microphone should be disconnected” and “because you are a woman, I have not interrupted”, the statement reads.

Based on the above-mentioned and guided by Articles 175, 176, 178, 181 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, I demand to institute Criminal proceedings and bring to justice the perpetrators in accordance with Articles 143, 161 and 258 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, “the statement reads.”Yerkir Apricot” report says.
