– You’re one of the council’s youngest female candidates. What motivation did you have to run in this election?
During the last 5 years of my political career I have participated in different activities in the urban economy. In this case, it turned out that my desire coincided with that of our political team and I was included in the list of candidates for Yerevan’s Council of Elders.
- Recently much has been said about the involvement of women in politics and decision-making process is not enough. By your example, you can specify what are the main obstacles in the way of young women? What qualities should a woman politician have to succeed?
I think this problem has partially been solved in recent years. The evidence are recent Parliamentary and and upcoming municipal elections, where the number of women in candidate lists, compared to previous years, has sufficiently been increased. The young woman politician, in my opinion, should have relevant educational qualifications, work experience and endeavor of success. These features are important for enhancing the role of women in society and and our political field, in my opinion, gives everyone the opportunity to express themselves.
