Sona Aghekyan: “I cannot remain indifferent to injustice” 28.04.2017
Why did you decide to run as a candidate in municipal elections?
– I have such a nature that cannot be indifferent to injustice and wait for someone to restore or bring a solution to my problem. Unfortunately, today the injustices are so much in our lives that are already dominated. You understand that the citizens have no right to close your eyes or run ostrich policy. I can only influence wrong decisions through policy. I am the mother of two children and I will do everything that my children, all the children will live just as educated, and most importantly, civilized life. These are the basic reasons for which I decided to run as a candidate in the municipal elections.
– What gaps do you see in Yerevan government system?
There are various flaws and it is the result of such shortcomings that today we all complain about everything, everywhere, everywhere we hear the complaints of our citizens. Education is neglected. I communicate every day with preschool and school-age children every time regretting that everything is done only to look clean during inspections.
One of the important issues is the public transport situation – only that the passenger is moved from one end to the other end of the city double-folded and in humiliating circumstances, I think it’s pretty obvious fact of contemptuous attitude of town government towards passengers. It is necessary to make very quick solutions to complex red markings, traffic control and parking violations.
