“Women’s agenda” towards the Parliamentary elections: Invitation to debates
OxYGen Foundation, in partnership with ProMedia-Gender NGO and Family Academy NGO, has the pleasure of inviting you to the public discussion of “Women’s agenda” developed towards the Parliamentary elections in the framework of the “Equal” campaign. The event will take place on March 22, at 14:30 in Ani Hall, Ani Plaza hotel, Yerevan, Armenia.
Women representatives of all political forces nominated for upcoming elections of the National Assembly, local and international women’s rights organizations and media representatives are invited to participate in the upcoming event.
“Women’s Agenda” aims to draw attention of parties and alliances nominated for upcoming elections of the National Assembly on the mechanisms ensuring equality of women and men with the expectation that, if elected, they will not only raise these issues in Parliament but also propose solutions to address them. We are guided by the notion that in conditions of parliamentary governance, political forces, acting as parts of the National Assembly, will be responsible for the policies implemented by the executive power.
We propose all the political forces that share the ambitions of being represented at the state legislative body to clarify their attitudes towards the mechanisms ensuring equal participation of women and men in country’s development. It will help those interested in these issues to make their choice for the upcoming elections.
To confirm your participation, please contact Lilit Kochinyan, Communication and campaign officer, OxYGen Foundation, by March 20 (contact number: 043 401304, email: lkochinyan@oxygen.org.am).
The event is organized in the frames of EQUAL campaign, implemented by OxYGen Foundation in partnership with ProMedia-Gender and Family Academy NGOs with the financial support of Government Offices of Sweden and Oxfam.
