The Republican party has tried to implement a 30/70 proportion in its list
According to the national list of the Republican Party of Armenia published by CEC, 58out of 197 candidates for deputies or 29.4% are women. This means that the Republicans will try to implement a 30/70 proportion in this election, even though during the discussion of the Electoral Code it was by insistence of its deputy that provision was postponed until 2021 year.
There are no non-working women among the candidates included in the list. MP candidate women are represented in legislative and executive bodies, they work in local government institutions, schools, clinics and other places.
There is one woman in the top five list, two – in top ten. The most remarkable fact list is that that long-ruling Republican, now the vice-speaker of the NA Hermine Naghdalyan is the third women of the list after Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan and MP Margarit Yesayan. The same trend is observed in the case of male workers.
Republican party lists include 118 candidates, 32 of them or 27% are women. It is noteworthy that the number of men and women candidates in some constituencies is almost equal.
