Gayane Kalantaryan: “The problem is in us…”

WomenNet.am has an interview with Vanadzor mayoral candidate, the director of the Lori regional psychiatric hospital, Gayane Kalantaryan occupying the fourth position in RPA proportional list. Mrs. Kalantaryan by individual nomination run and elected as Vanadzor City Council candidate for four times. In fact, she is the first female council member Kalantaryan but said she has considers it to be  negative the fact that she was the only woman in Vanadzor city council.

• I am independent, I have not ever been to any party. Since this time the council should be elected by the proportional list and there was no alternative for putting forward by the individual proposals and I had almost propositions from all the political parties, so I chose the Republicans. I had the official and unofficial suggestions from all parties participating in the elections, except for “Consolidation”, I chose the Republican, because I think that I can work with this team. There are people with whom our roads were crossed, when I was an aldermen, people with whom we work and who know me well.
