Gyumri -2016. Most of the parties represented women in the top three / Infographic

On October 2d, 11 parties will take part in municipal elections in Gyumri. A total of 419 candidates submitted their nominations in candidate lists, of which 128 or 30.5% were women. It should be noted that required by law, the parties should ensure a minimum proportion of 25/75 gender balance in their electoral lists. Let’s note that there is only one woman in the 21-members of  council of Gyumri.

Overall, one third of the submitted lists of candidates nominated by political parties in Gyumri are women.

Moreover, 8 of the 11 parties represented  women in the first three candidates on the list, three others – beginning from the 4^th. Only one of the lists is headed by women, Yepraksya Mekhakyan. 7 three parties  included three  women in their top ten lists.
