Summer of recovered smiles and memories of childhood in Pambak

 

On hot days August 46 displaced children from Syria, Iraq and Talish village had the opportunity to spend two weeks of their vacation in Aramyan campsite of Pambak village of Lori region. In those days it was worth  seeing children’s happy smile, warmth and care towards each other, which is so full of childhood memories, memories that were broken off in their hometown, Aleppo, Baghdad, Talish …

 

 

The initiative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees /UNHCR/, Armenian representation of SAVE THE CHILDREN and Young Men’s Christian Association was aimed at not only organizing full summer holidays for displaced children but also their integration into a new environment.

 

 

Anahit Hayrapetyan / coordinator of the UNHCR public information and external relations/ told WomenNet that although UNHCR’s assistance programs have been implemented for persons displaced from Syria, these programs in camps are very important for children, which this year was possible to implement due to the “Save the Children” and in partnership with the YMCA in Vanadzor.
