Local Elections: 21 women  running for community leader position 

On September 18, the next elections will be held in 317 communities of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Tavush and Syunik regions.  In 22 of these will take place only the elections of community leader, in 80 – only elections of council members  and 215 in – at the same time elections of  the head of the community and City Council member.

According to the data of the CEC, issued on September 18, among  548 candidates  registered  for local community leader regular elections only 21 representative are female of, 4 of which will compete in Aragatsotn region, 7 in the Ararat region, 8 in Armavir and 2 of Tavush region.

The election campaign will kick off on August 31 and will run until September 16. Registered candidates, according to the law,  can submit withdrawal applications until September 8  18:00.
