Just a few quotes from his speeches of last year clearly expressing position of the pontiff of the Catholic Church on women’s participation in work and family, social and religious life.
“…It is necessary to promote women’s participation in public life, work and the place where important decisions are made, maintaining their unique role in the family. You cannot leave women without support to carry the load. All institutions, including the Church must ensure that women have the freedom of choice, enabling them to fulfill their social responsibilities in harmony with religious and family life”…
“Why do women have to earn less than men? … They have the same rights. Christians must fight against such inequality; it is necessary to eliminate the scandalous gap between men and women salary remuneration”.
“Every man and every woman is going to switch to public office, should give themselves 2 questions.”Do I love my fellow citizens in order to better serve them? And “If am I so meek to hear every comment and vote the right way? If you are not ready to answer these questions positively, then your service will not be useful”.
“It is necessary to give more attention to women in religious life, it is necessary to overcome the stereotypes according to which men and women are opposed to each other and accept equality model differences between complementarities and differences”.
Many of these positions were expressed over last year’s speech of Pope Francis during the Forum “Women’s cultures: between equality and difference” “held in Vatican.
