UNICEF has alerted. Young people at risk of online sexual violence

 

According to the UN children’s Fund / UNICEF / new study,  8 from 10 18 – aged young people  find that youth is at risk of online  sexual abuse, and 5from 10  believe that their friends  manifest dangerous behavior when using Internet. Possibility and hazards.  “Growing” online survey is based on opinions of more than 10,000 18-year-old young people from 25 countries, participated in the survey, and reveals the risks of perspectives faced by young people, growing in more and more technologically interconnected world.

 

The Internet and mobile phones have revolutionized by bringing access to youth information, but the survey results show just how much dangerous the online abuse can be for girls and boys”, – said the Head of UNICEF Child Protection Department Cornelius Williams. “Globally, a one in three internet user is a child. Today’s findings by the young people provide important information about themselves. UNICEF aims to make  sounds of teenagers heard, helping them resist the online violence, abuse and exploitation, as well as to make sure that children can take full advantage of the benefits offered by the Internet and mobile phones”.

 

According to the new report, the teens are confident in their ability to stay on the safe; almost 90 percent of them think that they can avoid online dangers. Nearly 6 in 10 said that meeting new people online is somewhat or very important to them, but only 36 percent believe they can tell when people hide their identity online.
