The Ombudsman’s office has created a specialized department for protection of children’s rights
Today United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has issued a statement that in the next three years, in collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsman will make efforts to improve child protection, reported.
The partners will undertake joint steps towards capacity building for protection of children’s rights at a specialized department – Human Rights Defender’s office – which is to be set up, as well as to study the mechanism of complaints received by the children. Priorities and overall strategy for the protection of children’s rights for 2016-2018 be developed.
“Reliable protection of children’s rights is the most important strategic direction for the development of our country. Considering this reason, the Ombudsman’s staff set up a specialized department for the Protection of Children’s Rights. We are ready to work to implement the initiative, and to contribute to the solution of the existing problems in this area. Moreover, during this period, we plan to actively cooperate with all interested parties, it is considered an important prerequisite for achieving real results, “said Arman Tatoyan /human rights defender/ during a special event.
