British woman loses her job just because of not wearing high – heeled shoes on
London resident had been asked to vacate the office table, for refusal of wearing high-heeled shoes. The Mirror writes about this. Let’s recall that the newspaper has recently touched upon the women’s clothes attending Moscow military parade devoted to the 71th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, calling it sexist.
As a secretary at the reception Nicolas Torpi PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit company says, she was told that she must have put on at least 5 cm high heels shoes. When 27-year-old woman was upset, stating that this requirement is discrimination because her male colleagues are allowed to wear shoes with flat heels, they started to teas her. Young woman was offered to go to the nearest store and buy new shoes, but she refused. As a result she was fired for violating the dress code, also was not paid a salary.
Nicolas Torpe published a petition on the site Parliament.uk calling on to forbid employers to force workers to wear high-heeled shoes. If the proposal collects 100 thousand signatures, it will be discussed in the parliament.
