PM welcomes female heads and members of the community council

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed the urban community council of women leaders and women members of the communities of Armenia. The meeting took place by the initiative of the RPA Women’s Council, “Association of Women with University Education” NGO and the National Coordinator of the programs of the UN Development Programme Office, the government’s press service reported.

The Prime Minister congratulated the women participants of the meeting, praised the role of women in the political, economic and social life. Hovik Abrahamyan considered involvement of women as important in many areas, including the local government bodies, raising the role of women.

“Our efforts will be aimed at increasing the consistency of your performance, increase our country’s political and economic engagement in life, so you become more active in various fields. Our support will be visible to you in this matter, “said Hovik Abrahamyan.

Then during the meeting the Prime Minister answered questions of women leaders and women of the community council members, concerning a number of issues related to the activity of local authorities, the existing problems and the direction of the planned and carried out in the regions, increase the role of women in local self-governance, etc.
